Photo Session

 

Congratulations! This is where the Fun & Memories Begin.

Having a photo session is the best gift that you can give yourself and your dog. You are on your way to having an amazing experience and owning some of the most incredible photos of your beloved dog friend that will last a lifetime.

Here is just a little information to get started for your own photo session with your dog.

Photo sessions can last anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour, or all day if you like. It is really up to you , your family and your Dog. One thing to be mindful of is to have lots of fresh water for your dog especially if you stay out a long time.

Its best to work outside in natural light. Early mornings and late afternoons are the best times. This is magical light known as the golden hour. It makes any image so much more dynamic.

Sunrise or sunset sessions are outstanding and create the most dramatic photos. In depth tutorials on this soon.

You can work indoors if you prefer. If you go indoors try to have natural light coming in from a window or another source. More on other light sources coming soon.

Flash equipment can add wonderful light indoors or outside. More on this soon.

Photo sessions can be at your home, or any of your favorite places. Places like the beach, parks, woods, gardens are great.

You can take photos of your dog off leash or with the leash on. You can remove the leash later in post processing.
The priority is that your dog will be safe, comfortable and will enjoy the photo session experience while you take the best photographs. More on post processing soon.

You will need to review your photos on a computer, tablet or phone and then choose which photos you want to keep. This requires some type of image processing software program or app. There are free or inexpensive programs to choose from. More about image processing programs soon.

Decide what your print options are. Most photography labs use the best printing standards, but be sure to that your prints will be printed using archival inks and will be printed on archival paper, canvas, or metal so that your prints will last for many many years.
